This is by no means an exhaustive collection of all of the resources available for answering this question, but it is a good starting place and it will continue to grow.

Questions like this can cause people to panic, especially if the only answer they have to give is “Because I have faith.” But God does not call us to that kind of blind faith. He created us with minds that are capable of logic and reason so He gives us logical, scientific, historical, and reasonable reasons to believe the Bible is the Word of God.

As John R. Cross describes it during the Intro. in The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus”:

“The Bible is:

  1. A collection of 66 books;

  2. Written over a 1500 year span;

  3. Written over 40 generations;

  4. Written by more than 40 authors, from every walk of life–including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen, scholars, etc.

    1. Moses, a political leader, trained in the universities of Egypt

    2. Peter, a fisherman

    3. Amos, a herdsman

    4. Joshua, a military general

    5. Nehemiah, a cupbearer

    6. Daniel, a prime minister

    7. Luke, a doctor

    8. Solomon, a king

    9. Matthew, a tax collector

    10. Paul a rabbi

  5. Written in different places:

    1. Moses in the wilderness

    2. Jeremiah in a dungeon

    3. Daniel on a hillside and in a palace

    4. Paul inside a prison

    5. Luke while traveling

    6. John on the isle of Patmos

    7. Others in the rigors of a military campaign

  6. Written at different times:

    1. David in times of war

    2. Solomon in times of peace

  7. Written during different moods: some writing from the heights of joy and others from the depths of sorrow and despair

  8. Written on 3 continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe

  9. Written in three languages: Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek

  10. Finally, its subject matter includes hundreds of controversial topics. Yet, the Biblical authors spoke with harmony and authority from Genesis to Revelation. This is one unfolding story…”

“In this video, David Gelernter (a computer scientist from Yale University), David Berlinski (a Mathematician) & Stephen C. Meyer (a philosopher of Science) discuss the mathematical and scientific problem with Darwin's theory of evolution. It's a great conversation because these three gentlemen are not in total agreement with each other in terms of their conclusions based on the holes in Darwin's theory, but what they do agree on, and the conversation that ensues is both extremely fascinating and important.”

Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution” (Movie #1) -David Hames and Jobe Martin

“The Incredible Creatures That Defy Evolution Series enters the fascinating world of animals to reveal sophisticated and complex designs that shake the traditional foundations of evolutionary theory.

This series features Dr. Jobe Martin, who for the past 20 years, has been exploring evolution vs. creation. His findings have been fascinating students around the world as he lectures on these remarkable animal designs that cannot be explained by traditional evolution.

Dr. Martin himself was a traditional evolutionist, but his medical and scientific training would go through an evolution, rather a revolution when he began to study animals that challenged the scientific assumptions of his education. This was the beginning of the evolution of a creationist.

  • - Are there really creatures that produce fire to defend themselves?

  • - How does a giraffe get a drink without causing lethal blood pressure to his brain?

  • - How can Geckos walk upside down, even on glass and not fall?”

“The God of the Bible has some of the same attributes of Aristotle’s “unmoved mover” and many, if not all, of the attributes cited by great philosophers and theologians such as Augustine, Aquinas, and Anselm. In order to grasp that kind of God, you may need to renew your mind. If you are used to conceiving of God as a big angel or an old man in the sky, then drop the word God for a minute and simply think of the God of the Bible as the Source and Sustainer of all things.”

“The Case for a Creator: A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God“ - Movie by Lee Strobel (Part 1, but YouTube has the whole thing in 10 parts.)

“THE CASE FOR A CREATOR is a remarkable film about Lee Strobel's journey from spiritual skepticism to a profound faith in the God who has etched his indelible signature upon every galaxy and living cell. The film examines scientific evidence in the fields of molecular biology, astronomy, physics, cosmology, paleontology, and genetics to answer the questions: Does modern science confirm the theory that life and the universe are the products of blind, materialistic processes? Or, are there a purpose, plan, and transcendent design behind all that exists?”

“Michael Behe, John Lennox, and Steven Meyer are three of the leading voices in science and academia on the case for an intelligent designer of the universe and everything in it (including us). In this wide-ranging conversation, they point out the flaws in Darwin’s theory and the increasing amount of evidence uncovered by a rigorous application of the scientific method that points to an intentional design and creation of the physical world.”

“Professor Coleman elegantly dismantles the theory of evolution, give a realistic perspective on Noah and the flood, and shares why you can trust the Word of God.”

“John Lennox and Richard Dawkins debate the topic of God's Existence.”

“This video features a portion of the debate that Christopher Hitchens and John Lennox had several years ago around the question, "Is God Great?". I honestly think this was one of the all-time great debates about God in recorded history. Both gentlemen are highly intelligent and studied in their position... The truth will out!”

Best-selling author and pastor, Tim Keller, fields many tough questions from two heavy-hitting interlocutors, NBC journalist Martin Bashir and Columbia University's David Eisenbach at Columbia University, 2008. Explore more from the Veritas Forum (click here).

“Atheist Student Begins to Change His Mind in a rare moment of cognitive dissonance giving way to thought. Frank Turk does a brilliant job of patiently walking this young man through his knowledge gaps and errors in reasoning, but most importantly, he helps to guide him one step closer to God.”

Original video is from Cross Examined.

“How many times have you heard atheists say that they do not believe in God because they believe in the Big Bang theory? Somewhere in that reasoning are unchallenged assumptions about the matter, or material, that makes up the universe. Is matter eternal like some suppose? Can it produce intelligence? In this mock debate between Dr. Sproul and Dr. John Gerstner, they look at the question, ‘Is There a God?’

“Science & God: Day of Discovery” - Os Guinness and John Lennox (Movie at CMI Library)

“Some modern-day theories seem to pit science against God, but why? Do you have to choose or can you intellectually believe in both? In Science & God, author and social critic Os Guinness engages Oxford University Professor of Mathematics John Lennox in a conversation that explores this tension, with calculations that subtract neither God nor science. Lennox looks at both historical and contemporary explanations of the universe, offering his unique perspective. He uses debate-tested conclusions and simple illustrations to clarify the real issues of this controversy. Decide for yourself what to think about this important debate as you examine both scientific and theological perspectives.”

“The God Who Speaks” | FULL MOVIE | - Alistair Begg, Erwin Lutzer, Norman Geisler, & R.C. Sproul

“There is a war raging around us – in society, in our churches, and in our homes. It is not a battle over marriage, race, or the sexual revolution. Rather, it is a battle for the truth. Is God real? Does He speak, and if so, how would we know? While many churches are faithfully proclaiming the truths found in Scripture, others have lost confidence in the Bible's divine authorship."

The God Who Speaks is a 90-minute documentary that traces the evidence of the Bible’s authority through interviews with some of the world’s most respected biblical scholars. This film answers common objections about the Bible’s reliability and equips believers to confidently base their lives on the power of God’s Word.”

“Lee Strobel, a former atheist turned Christian who wrote the book The Case for Christ, shares how he went from skeptic to believer. This 16-minute explanation explores the truth he uncovered about the resurrection, the gospel accounts, and the controversies he had to overcome to support the evidence for Christ and make a case for the foundational belief in Christianity.”

“The Case for Christ”- Full Movie 2017

“A journalist chases down THE BIGGEST STORY IN HISTORY:

'Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God?'

Retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, cross-examines a dozen of experts with doctorates who are specialists in the areas of Old Manuscripts, Textual Criticism, Biblical Studies, Psychology & Medicine. Strobel challenges them with questions like;

1. How reliable is the New Testament?

2. Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible?

3. Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event? ,etc.

Strobel's tough, point-blank questions made this bestselling book read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it is not fiction! It is a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure, JESUS CHRIST.“

“In this video, NT Wright lays out a number of things to keep in mind regarding the 1st Century historical context as part of the compelling case for the Resurrection of Jesus. This movie is a powerful, and desperately needed way of presenting the Gospel to our Post Modern/Post Christian culture. Mining for God looks at how Christianity is view in America today, and exposes the biggest cultural obstacles between our lost world and our loving savior. Mining for God leads the audience past clichéd Christian sentiment into a deep and thought provoking dialogue that will leave the Christian edified and the skeptic in question of his doubt.”

“My Testimony of Salvation” Blog Post by Williams Oluwagbemi

“It will be unwise for me to blame false teachers or anyone for my ignorance. I had a Bible. I’ve always had one. But I failed to study it. That was the real reason for my ignorance. Had I paid attention to the Scriptures, my story would have been different.”

“My testimony to my salvation and the faith” - Blog Post by Soku Byoun

“I learned the bible from a historical perspective. For the first time I learned to see that the bible was not only about commandments, rules or laws, but HIS Story, that is, humankind’s history with God. It contained the beginning and the end of mankind. The pastor at the program showed supporting documents and evidence on many of the events occurred in the Bible. I was confused. Is God real? Is the bible true?”

“My Salvation Testimony” - Blog Post by Audrey, Holy Sojourners

“My life before Christ had an abundance of fear, anxiety, and hopelessness. They say your view of God determines everything else in your life. It was indeed right for me. I believed God was a mighty being whose sole job was to punish me for wrongdoings (breaking the ten commandments)…”

“NABEEL QURESHI "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus" - Muslim converts to Christianity”

“Nabeel Qureshi (April 13, 1983 – September 16, 2017) was a Pakistani-American Christian apologist, author, speaker, and convert from the Ahmadiyya movement of Islam. Ahmadi Muslims worldwide are estimated to be around 10-20 million. The Ahmadiyya’s beliefs are more closely related to those of the Sunni Muslims than the Shi’a Muslims. The Ahmadis are guided by the Five Pillars of Islam and believe in the 6 Articles of Faith. They also accept the Quran as their holy book and pray five times a day while facing the Kaaba. Ahmadis practice Sunnah and accept the Authority of the Hadiths. However, their distinguishing characteristic is their belief in Mizra as the Promised Messiah and redeemer as was promised by the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. Mizra’s aim was to propagate Islam throughout the world through peaceful means and to revive the forgotten Islamic values such as peace, sympathy, and forgiveness.”

Nathan Penny was not raised in a Christian home but did attend his 1st Communion. As a teenager, he turned to partying and drugs, which continued into his college years. While working as a bartender, he met a co-worker whom he started a relationship with. Her father was a pastor, but she wanted to be with someone not like her father at all. They had a child together and later married. They would visit her parents occasionally and attend a church where his father-in-law was the pastor. During one of those visits, he was given the book Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It stayed by his bedside for many months. One night when he couldn’t sleep, he started reading the book. While reading the book, he became convinced that Jesus was Lord and the scales had been removed from his eyes and he was amazed to see that Jesus was real.

Genesis Apologetics

“Providing Free Biblical Creation Training Resources for Students Since 2015.”

Biblical Training

“BiblicalTraining is a team of distinguished professors, pastors, and authors providing high-quality biblical teaching for free for every Christian, everywhere, forever.”

Answers in Genesis

“Answers in Genesis is an apologetics (i.e., Christianity-defending) ministry dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus particularly on providing answers to questions surrounding the book of Genesis, as it is a foundational book of Christianity and the most-attacked book of the Bible. We also desire to train others to develop a biblical worldview and seek to expose the bankruptcy of evolutionary ideas and their bedfellow: a “4.5 billion-year-old” earth (and an even older universe).”

Jews for Jesus

“A non-profit organization made up primarily of Jewish people, as well as other followers of Jesus who are committed allies of the Jewish people. Our staff come from diverse Jewish backgrounds—some were raised Orthodox Jewish, some nominally Jewish. We’re artists, parents, doctors, former IDF soldiers, and more. But we have one thing in common: we all believe Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah our prophets foretold.

Many Jewish people have never heard that following Jesus is a viable and thriving expression of Jewish life.”

SO BE IT! (YouTube Channel)

“Hi! We are Jeff and Elisha - two Israeli believers in Jesus with a passion for hearing and sharing stories. On our channel you will discover the stories of people on the streets of Israel and the stories of Jewish people who met Jesus in amazing ways. You will also learn more about the story of the Bible by seeing it come alive in its original context - the land of Israel!

Both of us never imagined that we would dedicate our lives to telling other people about Jesus, but once we learned that He is the Messiah and Savior of the world, there was nothing else to say except, "SO BE IT!"

SO BE IT! is a project of Jews for Jesus.”

Topics we cover include addressing common misconceptions & objections made against the Bible, God, & Christianity. Demonstrating how historical, archaeological, scientific, & philosophical evidence all support what only the Christian worldview claims. We also discuss political & cultural movements that are incompatible with a Biblical worldview & how Christians can best navigate the cultural climate we find ourselves in today.”

Delafé Testimonies (YouTube Channel)

“Delafé Testimonies is a global evangelistic project with the mission of creating the world's largest archive of Jesus testimonies. Our vision is to save souls, build community, and set people free through the testimony of Jesus.”

Give Me an Answer

“The ‘Give Me An Answer’ ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he’d open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four-hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 – 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion.

Our mission is to ignite a passion for truth, guide individuals to embrace their faith, and help them find purpose in a world hungry for answers. Driven by a deep commitment to spreading the message of Jesus, we actively engage skeptics, empower truth-seekers, and offer meaningful responses to questions, doubts, and challenges concerning faith, reason, and the meaning of life. Through the transformative power of media, we strive to make a lasting impact on lives and hearts, sharing the love, grace, and truth of Jesus with unwavering dedication.”

“Mining for God” (Apologetics Documentary with Lee Strobel, William Lane Craig, and Others)

“As Brandon McGuire asked questions, both online and on the street, it soon became apparent that people hold all manner of beliefs: Good people go to heaven; bad people end up in hell. All religions are basically the same. It’s about rules. It’s about controlling people. No religion can be the only way to God or spirituality. McGuire realized that this was an area of much confusion in America. So he set out to address it rationally.

He began asking a number of questions in order to dig into the ideologies of our time. What is Christianity? What are some of the ideas that have influenced the way people think about it? Is there any evidence for God? If so, how can we know anything about who this God is? Is there such a thing as objective truth, or is truth relative to cultures?

McGuire then turns an eye to the central event in the Christian narrative – the resurrection of Jesus Christ. After all, this claim – that Jesus of Nazareth rose from the dead – makes Christianity testable: Is there evidence for the resurrection? And if so how credible is it?

He interviews a variety of people – people on the street, former atheists and former believers in other religions, along with some of the most seasoned Christian scholars making the case for Christianity today such as Lee Strobel, William Lane Craig, Gary Habermas, J Warner Wallace, Nabeel Qureshi, Paul Copan, and many more. The result of all of this inquiry is Mining for God, a one hour, expertly produced documentary that doesn’t preach at anyone. Rather, it raises good questions and respectfully offers food for thought.”
