CMI has a long history of reaching out to those in need and proclaiming the Word of Truth to people in Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming.

The last verses in Matthew tell of the Great Commission: to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations . . ." and CMI has used broadcast, print, and the Internet to impact people in Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming for more than 25 years.

CMI is the parent ministry for KCMI 97.1 FM radio station, Cross Times newspaper, and CrossReference Library.

The radio station went on the air in 1981 serving mainly Terrytown, Scottsbluff and Gering. In the late 1980s KCMI received a major boost in power and listener ship as it became a 100,000-watt station. KCMI now serves an area roughly bounded by Sidney, Oshkosh, Hay Springs, Nebraska and Lingle, Wyoming to the west. The station is the only true locally Christian radio station in the area. Listeners are able to enjoy a strong mix of quality Biblical teaching and Christian music. Teachers include: Dr. Bryan Clark from Back to the Bible, Dr. David Jeremiah with Turning Point, Chuck Swindoll with Insight for Living, and more. Our mix of music includes Contemporary Christian, Inspirational, Inspirational Country, Southern Gospel, hymns and more.

In the mid-90s, the CMI staff used to write and print a monthly Christian newspaper for the area called Cross Times. Cross Times was one of the only Christian newspapers being published in Nebraska and Wyoming. The newspaper was distributed free through churches in Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming. Nowadays, Christian articles can be found on CMI’s blog page: kcmifm.com/blog.

CMI ministries are funded with a mix of donations and advertising. The leadership structure consists of a board of directors, a general director and an assistant director.

The ministry also plays a key role in bringing concerts and speakers to the area.

Basic Beliefs of Christian Media, Inc.

The Bible

We affirm our confidence in God's inerrant Word. We treasure its truths, and we respect its reproofs.

God

We believe there is only One True God - revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly know as the Trinity).

The Lord Jesus Christ

We claim Jesus Christ as our Lord-the very God who came in human flesh-the object of our worship and the subject of our praise. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose on the third day.

The Holy Spirit

We recognize the Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead, incessantly at work convicting, convincing, and comforting.

The Depravity of Humanity

We confess that Adam's fall into sin left humanity without the hope of heaven apart from a new birth, made possible by the Savior's death and bodily resurrection.

Salvation

We believe the offer of salvation is God's love-gift to all. Those who accept it by faith, apart from works, become new creatures in Christ.

The Return of Christ

We anticipate our Lord's promised return, which could occur at any moment.

Resurrection of Humanity

We are convinced that all who have died will be brought back from beyond-believers to everlasting communion with God and unbelievers to everlasting separation from God.

The Body of Christ

We know the Lord is continuing to enlarge His family, the universal body of Christ, over which He rules as Head.

The Family of God

We are grateful to be a part of the local church which exists to proclaim God's truth, to administer the ordinances, to stimulate growth toward maturity, and to bring glory to God.

1. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between one man and one woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex.

We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. The corporation reserves the right to only recognize a person to be the gender that the person had at birth. (Gen. 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13; Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1, 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4)

2. We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10; Eph 5:22-23)

Sexual Immorality

We believe that the only scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen 2:24; Rom 7:2; 1 Cor 7:10; Eph 5:22-23)

Marriage

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. (Psalm 139)

Sanctity of Life

IF YOU’VE NEVER MET JESUS…

…a good place to start is John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

To believe in Jesus, please consider the following:

The Bible says we are all sinners (Romans 3:10)

The penalty for that sin is death (Romans 3:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.)

The three types of death referred to here are physical death, spiritual death (separation from God, a condition in which all who reject Christ find themselves, even while physically living), and eternal death (separation from God for eternity, or hell).

All people will eventually experience physical death, but God does not want you and I to be separated from Him in this life or eternally.

Let’s go back to John 3:16, which says, God gave His son, Jesus Christ, to die for your and my sin. (Romans 5:8…God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Have you believed that Christ died for you?  I Peter 2:6… He who believes in Him shall not be disappointed.  John 8:24 (Jesus said) …unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins.  John 8:36  If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Once you’ve allowed Jesus into your life, consider that He made you to follow His principles (Matt 7:24-25).

God offers help and hope to those who trust and follow Him.  (Proverbs 3:5Psalm 37:7)
