Hi there! My name is Haddie and I am the Head Librarian for The Cross Reference Library in the CMI radio station. From a really young age, I’ve loved reading. My parents would usually find me discovering places like Narnia, Wonderland, and even Oz. I love stories that take us places and give us hope. What’s awesome, is that the Bible does that. And here in the Cross Reference Library, the shelves are filled with books that do that too. For the last few years, I’ve been working in the Cross Reference Library, gaining an appreciation and a love for the Christian books and movies found here. So, if you need a tour, or even a book/movie recommendation, I’ll either be at the front desk working on the latest library blog post or in the library making sure everything looks nice.

What is the Cross Reference Library?

The Cross Reference Library is a free lending library where there are 3 rooms with thousands of great Christian material for learning and entertainment. We have loads of fictional books that feature romance, mystery, Bible characters, corruption in government, and so much more.

In our Non-fiction room (or the theology room!) you’ll find books on prayer, parenting, marriage, how to get the most out of your daily Bible reading, etc. Books that tackle men’s issues, women’s issues, and even books for teens as well. In this room, you’ll also find a ton of great Christian movies like Courageous and we have all four seasons of The Chosen!

And one of the best parts of our library is our kids room! There’s fun picture books like “There’s a Duck in my Closet,” and chapter book series like The Chronicles of Narnia! You’ll even be able to find Bible stories for kids, along with non-fiction books about things like volcanoes and sharks. The kids room doesn’t just have books! We have fun-filled movies from the VeggieTales and TorchLighter series, along with some Adventures in Odyssey CDs as well.

Summer Events!

Every June, The Cross Reference Library gets pretty busy. At the beginning of the month, we kick off our Annual used book sale and our Summer Reading Program.

With our book sale, folks have the opportunity to come and look through old Christian books and movies that we bring out just for the sale in June. They are at really great prices with Paperback books for $0.50 and Hardcover books for $1.00. All money raised goes toward bringing more books into the library for folks of all ages to read!

Our Summer Reading Program is a time for parents to bring kids ages 3-16 years into our library with the challenge to read as many books as possible, either as a family or individually.

Every Friday, we meet downstairs for a Bible lesson, and kids get extra points for memorized verses. There will be prizes given on the last Friday of the month for most books read in each age group!

Cross Reference Library is located in the CMI studio building at 209 East 15th Street in Scottsbluff. We’re open Monday through Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm.
